Trust Strategy

Trust Strategic Priorities

Objective 1

Accelerate Learning for All

We will support all children to achieve and remove barriers to ensure equity for all.

Our ambition is to give every child the very best start. No child should be left behind. Curriculum and pedagogical approaches will be aligned and measured for effectiveness against our mission and vision. We will draw upon the very best national and international research evidence and challenge colleagues to build new thinking and practices. We want to ensure that all our children accelerate their learning potential, that they grow as leaders, develop a perspective on the world they live in, and are clear about their personal ambitions growing up.

Over the period of this plan, we will:

  • Become renowned nationally for our best practice in inclusive practices and pedagogy, embedding and refining ‘The Lingfield Teaching Compass’ to ensure that all teachers are experts in inclusive practice.
  • Ensure that at each point of transition our children will have the knowledge and skills needed for the next step in their education, through responding to the Curriculum and Assessment Review and ensuring that all of our schools curricular meet high and rising Trust curriculum expectations.
  • Have a focussed plan to enrich and widen the curriculum experience through forging partnerships with local, national and international organisations in a more coordinated and coherent way. We must use our size and strengths to form such partnerships and influence practice beyond the Trust.
  • Deepen the implementation and impact of our SEND strategy, responding to the white paper. Develop additional provision that ensures some of our most vulnerable young people are not neglected, can achieve well, and feel valued.
  • Create a family engagement strategy to ensure that our families are experiencing a consistently strong core offer across all of our family of schools, drawn from the best practices from within our Trust.
  • Have a clear and comprehensive approach to the use and teaching of new technologies so that our children are well prepared for life beyond education.
Objective 2

Investing in Our Staff

Lingfield Education Trust as the Employer of Choice

Our ambition is to be renowned locally and nationally as a great place to work. A place where all who work for Lingfield Education Trust feel valued, cared for, listened to and invested in. Employee engagement, leadership development, well-being and talent management sit at the heart of our HR strategy. We will maximise the benefit of working at scale by ensuring that we have impactful and cost efficient approaches to both
recruitment and retention. We will adopt trust-wide training programmes so that colleagues from different schools within the Trust can learn together, identify best practice, and grow as leaders.

Over the period of this plan, we will:

  • Ensure that as a Trust, we have a sustainable staffing model that liberates potential within our schools, reaps the benefits of working at scale.
  • Develop a Talent Management Model Strategy, supported by clear job descriptions, high quality self evaluation and performance management processes, to allow the Trust to map out the quality of our staffing body, target appropriate professional development and plan succession.
  • We will extend the Lingfield Leadership Programme for junior, middle and senior leaders across the Trust.
  • We will formalise stakeholder feedback amongst staff so that we can test the cultural alignment to the Trust.
  • Ensure the clarity of, and widened offer of the approach to Trust Employee Benefits offer.
Objective 3

Financial and Environmental Sustainability

A sustainable Trust, for a sustainable future

To be financially sustainable, the Trust needs to approach resource management with an investment mindset. To have the confidence to re-engineer and do things differently. We believe that by working in partnership with a collection of schools we can realise greater economies of scale – lower cost per pupil, thus ensuring a fair offer for every pupil. Environmental sustainability will not only help the trust financially, but it will help the planet. Our young people and our staff would expect the Trust to have ambitions linked to environmental sustainability and also to be engaged as leaders in shaping/ delivering this strategy.

Over the period of this plan, we will:

  • Create a Sustainability Policy that ensures effective strategic capital planning for the use of estates, assets and reserves.
  • Create a digital strategy to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Strengthen governance oversight and scrutiny of our stewardship of resources.
Objective 4

Strengthening Community Engagement

An impact for children beyond our Trust

The Trust wants to accelerate its progress towards its vision by reaching out to other community organisations beyond the Trust with similar goals and ambitions. We want to contribute to addressing system-wide challenges. We want to work collaboratively with other trusts, with local and regional partners, and with national/ international organisations to help us deliver an even greater experience for our young people and colleagues. It will require us as a mature organisation to initiate much of this work, secure both hearts and minds towards key projects and help build capacity and systems to create long-term coherent solutions.

Over the period of this plan, we will:

  • Establish a range of partnerships with other organisations, with clear leadership, systemised approaches and measurable outcomes.
  • Engage as many stakeholders within the Trust as possible, including children and families within this work.
  • Develop a Lingfield Children’s Leadership Conference on themes linked to community engagement.
